Fearless Woman of the Week

Over the last two years, I have captured Fearless Women in a photographic portrait, holding a sword as a symbol of their courage. Each woman that I met conveyed to me amazing fearless stories that I will never forget. Honoring the over 150 women that I photographed, I want to attempt to feature many of them, one by one, in a "Fearless Women of the Week".

I photographed Rose Pagonis at the eWomenNetwork Conference in 2008 creating a "Fearless Portrait" for her. Coming to this country as an immigrant, Rose Pagonis married young and got divorced years later. As a single mom of three teenage children, she ignored her fears of being broke and did not accept going on welfare. Instead, she chose to make a difference by giving her kids the life they deserved. Today, she enjoys a fantastic life and a terrific real estate career in difficult economic times. She is a full time caregiver to her Mom who has Alzheimer's and is very active in the Alzheimer's Association. She started the George & Dimitra Vlahos Memory Foundation as a way to honor her parents and help others realize their dreams.
I honor Rose and her courage as "The Fearless Woman of the Week".
